We’re Building This Between Everything Else
Welcome to the first Weekend Hack Co. blog.
We could probably start this with some polished story about entrepreneurship, building a brand, chasing dreams and having a five-year plan.
But that wouldn’t really be us.
The truth?
We’re figuring this thing out as we go.
Weekend Hack Co. started with an idea: golf should be about more than what you shoot.
It should be about the people you play with. The trash talk on the first tee. The terrible shot that somehow becomes the story everybody remembers. The birdie nobody saw coming. The drinks afterward. The road trips. The laughs.
Bad Scores. Great Stories.
That started as a tagline.
The more we build this company, the more we realize it pretty much describes our life, too.
Building a Brand in the Middle of Real Life
There isn't a Weekend Hack corporate office filled with a marketing department, designers, accountants and people handling everything behind the scenes.
There's us.
We're working our regular 9-to-5 jobs while trying to build a company after hours.
And life definitely hasn't slowed down while we're doing it.
We're getting one kid off to college.
Another is starting an entirely new chapter and having their first child—which means we're about to enter a whole new chapter ourselves.
And the twins?
They're absolutely killing it in football.
Somewhere between work, family, practices, games, college, becoming grandparents and everything else life throws at us, we're building Weekend Hack Co.
Late nights.
Early mornings.
Phone calls during lunch breaks.
Emails from the parking lot.
Talking about designs at the dinner table.
Learning websites.
Learning manufacturing.
Learning shipping.
Learning pricing.
Learning marketing.
Learning that something that sounds incredibly simple—like “let's make a polo”—is definitely not as simple as making a polo.
We've made mistakes.
We've changed our minds.
We've redesigned things.
We've spent money.
We've worried about money.
We've probably driven each other a little crazy.
And we've learned a ton.
But through all of it, something pretty cool has started happening.
Weekend Hack is becoming real.
We Put Ourselves Into This
We're not building Weekend Hack because we think the world desperately needs another golf shirt.
There are plenty of golf shirts.
We're building it because we think golf needs more of the people we actually play golf with.
The weekend golfers.
The guys and girls squeezing in 18 whenever life gives them the chance.
The golfer who shoots 102 and still talks about that one perfect 7-iron for the next three weeks.
The foursome that laughs way more than they keeps score.
The dads.
The moms.
The buddies.
The beginners.
The people who love golf even when golf doesn't seem to love them back.
Those are our people.
And that's what we want Weekend Hack Co. to represent.
This Is Bigger Than Clothing
Eventually, we want Weekend Hack to be something you experience—not just something you wear.
Apparel is where we're starting.
But the vision is bigger.
Tournaments. Events. Golf trips. Crazy ideas. Characters. Stories. Community. And hopefully a whole lot of people meeting each other because they share the same attitude toward this game.
We don't know exactly where this road ends.
That's actually part of the fun.
What we do know is we're going to keep building.
We're going to show you the wins.
We're going to show you the mistakes.
We're going to talk about what we're learning, what we're designing, what happens behind the scenes and probably some things we haven't even thought of yet.
This blog is going to be part Weekend Hack, part golf and part real life.
No pretending we've got everything figured out.
Because we don't.
We're just a family with jobs, kids, football games, college, a new grandbaby on the way and a slightly ridiculous idea that maybe we can build something special.
So we're betting on ourselves.
And we're putting everything we've got into it.
If you've ever thought about chasing an idea while life was already moving a hundred miles an hour, come along with us.
If you've ever stood over a golf ball knowing damn well you probably shouldn't be trying the shot you're about to attempt...
You're definitely our kind of person.
This is the beginning.
Welcome to Weekend Hack Co.
Bad Scores. Great Stories.
